Your Privacy Matters

BuildBoss PRO is a construction site management application designed to assist site managers, supervisors, and safety officers with audits, toolbox talks, daily activity briefings (DABs), and incident reporting.

This application is developed as an independent software product. For privacy enquiries, please use the contact details in Section 11.

Data entered into the app remains exclusively on your device. This may include:

• Job & site information — project names, site addresses, job references
• Personnel names — inspector, manager, supervisor names you enter
• Incident records — incident type, location, description, dates
• Photographs — images attached to audit issues (compressed and stored locally)
• Signatures — digital signatures captured within the app (stored locally as image data)
• App preferences — theme, language, PDF settings (stored in localStorage)

We do not collect: names, emails, phone numbers, location data, device identifiers, IP addresses, or any analytics data.

All data is stored locally on your device using standard browser storage technologies:

• IndexedDB — used for job records, reports, photos, and signatures. Supports larger data volumes.
• localStorage — used for app settings and preferences only (theme, PDF date toggle, company name).

This data is controlled entirely by you. It can be cleared at any time via your browser or device settings, or using the Clear All Data option within the app.

Data entered into BuildBoss PRO is used solely to provide the app's core functionality:

• Generating site inspection and audit reports
• Producing toolbox talk records and sign-off sheets
• Creating daily activity briefing (DAB) documents
• Recording and documenting site incidents
• Exporting reports as PDF documents
• Saving and retrieving job history on your device

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, advertising, or any purpose beyond operating the app on your device.

The app uses the following third-party resources delivered via CDN, which may set standard browser caches but do not receive your app data:

• Google Fonts — typography only, loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. No app data is transmitted. (Google Privacy Policy)

When you choose to Share via WhatsApp or Export PDF, data leaves the app only as initiated by you, under your control, using your device's native share functionality.

RIDDOR Reporting (UK): If an incident requires reporting to the HSE under RIDDOR 2013, this is the user's legal responsibility. The app provides a reminder link to hse.gov.uk/riddor but does not submit any data automatically.

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the following rights regarding personal data. Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly within the app:

If you believe your data rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK: ico.org.uk | 0303 123 1113.

EU users may contact their national supervisory authority.

Data is retained on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. There is no automatic deletion or expiry.

Your responsibility: Under UK law (including CDM Regulations 2015 and RIDDOR 2013), certain construction records must be retained for specific periods. Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate records in line with applicable legislation. BuildBoss PRO does not enforce or manage retention on your behalf.

• RIDDOR records — must be kept for at least 3 years (UK law)
• Accident book entries — recommended 3 years minimum
• Site inspection records — typically retained for the duration of the project plus 6 years

We recommend exporting important reports as PDF and storing them securely outside the app.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, security depends primarily on your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.).

We recommend:

• Keeping your device screen locked with a PIN, password, or biometric
• Enabling device storage encryption (enabled by default on most modern Android and iOS devices)
• Regularly exporting and backing up important reports
• Deleting sensitive job records when no longer needed

The app itself does not implement authentication — anyone with access to your device can access app data. Treat your device accordingly.

BuildBoss PRO is intended exclusively for use by adults (18+) in a professional construction or site management context.

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the Effective Date at the top of this page will be updated.

Continued use of BuildBoss PRO following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Significant changes that affect how data is handled will be communicated via an in-app notice.
